On Starting Over
« on: November 20, 2008, 06:19:23 AM »
I was looking at the race events in the Proving Ground and plotting a mental path through them that would produce the smallest number of wasted steps.  I was looking at the Heavy Weights race and thinking "Argh, I hate those races.  Heavy cars on the snakes...yuck"

Then I had me another thought.  Why bother?  The leaderboard sees that race as completed.  I don't like the prize car and would junk it for the space as soon as I won it.  Then the overall ramification of that thought settled over me.

If it ain't fun, I ain't doin' it.

It occurred to me that much of what I had been doing had become like a job.  And the result had become that my primary source of enjoyment was just getting the various tasks done.

So I decided to let all that go.  I've done the leaderboard trip.  I've completed everything.  Let it go.

Ah that feels good.

Thanks to my friends here, I don't have to scramble for money, and I have a good set of cars to play with for starters.  That's what I'll do.  Play.

So... right now I just want to beat that damned Cobra Mustang on Leguna Seca with my C Classed Z28.

I think we've talked about this before.  Burn out.  Too many cars, too many tasks.

I think I will guard the FUN aspect a bit better...

At least till Forza III comes out.

Good point, Blooze.  I don't know how many times I've tried races I don't like just because I SHOULD get times for them.
