Hop's Thirty Second Safety Speech & Unspoken Rules

Thirty Second Safety Speech

Gentlemen, please hold your line in Turn One. If you start-off on the outside, stay on the outside. and if you start-off on the inside, stay on the inside, at least through Turn One. Just once, let's have "The Big Wreck" in Turn Two! Also, remember that most wrecks happen when someone thinks to themselves, "We could go three-wide in there..." and that all the rest of the wrecks happen when someone thinks to themselves, "Surely he'll see me."

~

Unspoken Rules:

1* It is the party attempting to pass that is responsible for completing and/or calling out the passing maneuver. "Hey You" is not acceptable as a warning. Either the driver's name, gamer-tag, current race position, or car+color/paint scheme is best, and is a helluva lot better than "Oh sh*t!" :o

2* If someone is calling out a pass and you're just chatting, don't even finish your sentence. No one should be speaking for the two seconds it takes to say, "2nd place Camaro, I'm on your right." Let all passing announcements or other miscellaneous notifications of racing conditions always take precedence. If someone spins-out two corners ahead, and may subsequently be stopped sideways in the track, I think the news about last night's football game or the next election can wait a few seconds... ;)

3* If you tap someone and they lose a position, the honorable thing to do is to give them the position back and then to re-attempt to pass cleanly. You don't have to do this, but if you don't... don't be surprised if someone does it right back to you, in a very BAD place, such as the Corkscrew or even certain parts of Sunset Pensinsula ->Just ask BBQ Pete about his undeserved journey into pit lane for an example of getting hit "in a very BAD place" :D

4* Blocking once is "racing", blocking twice in the same corner or straight is more like "asking for it". ;)

5* No swastikas, etc. Red Baron/Confederate Battle Flag/WWII fighter plane paint schemes are fine! (as long as there's NO SWASTIKAS! lol)

6* We do not speak of Rule 6*, it is unspoken.

7* More of a recommendation than a rule: Don't be an ass-hat. You know what I mean. ::)
