I had another go at this last night and am pleased to say that I was more consistent on the first stint. However, I was slower on the second stint in relation to my fastest lap, but as the fastest lap was faster that's not necessarily a disaster. The RX-7 pitted earlier this time so I had to pass him as well as the Caddy (it's one of the few times where the statement "Classic muscle car outhandles Japanese sports car is accurate") but fortunately neither put up much of a struggle with me catching and outbraking Jim Davis into the last corner and getting the RX-7 2 corners after I caught him by getting a better run onto the Rahal straight. The others again pitted at good times for me.
Pre-race though, i softened the front end a bit to try and get rid of some understeer. That left me with a Challenger with this build/tune:

I used 5th gear at the end of the S/F straight with this set-up, hence me calling it a 5-speed tune. However, I change up at 6000rpm to use as much of that torque as possible, if you were to run it as a 4-speed it would be approaching the red line at the end of the straight.
As for the new times:
Enduro
48:31.819 1970 Challenger Spiny
Hotlap
95.392 1970 Challenger SpinyI think there's another 5 seconds in the race time, but really can't face running the track again to find out.
