What were you running?  The miata I'm referring to is similar to the SM, but with racing slicks and aero.  The build is in my garage under the title "miata mongoose."  It's pretty light, about 2200 lbs IIRC.  The goodyears are generally pretty good about not scrubbing too much with a good tune.  Then again, I'm running a buttload of downforce on that car.

Edit:  my similarly-sized 2000GT wore through tires pretty quickly in a B-class enduro at MV full. Again, a version of the tune is in my garage if you're interested.  It was good enough for second and top lap IIRC, losing out to Snyder but holding off Bimmer by a slim margin for most of the race.

I'm in.

As for the car - it will be pistons for me. 8 pistons in a V to be exact - I just haven't decided yet whether to go with the Spirra or the Series 1. Either way, it looks like I'll be in Team Alternative Lifetyle tomorrow night ;D

Signup sheet updated to this point.

Glad to have you aboard, Spiny.    The Series 1 is quite a car, and I'm always amazed that so few people run it.  It's one of the few cars I own that I just refuse to paint.  It looks perfect to me as it is.  It's like some awesome half-viper, half-cobra, half-miata....thing that just roundhouse kicked math in the face because it's so awesome.  Sorry, I've been writing research stuff all day, and still have a lot to do.  My brain needed to vent off Chuck Norris-related material for a second.

Duly noted.  Make sure you send me an FR-I don't think I have you.  Honored to have you along, even if you will probably smoke me.  hehe

Don't count on it. I may lay down some decent lap times. But I doubt I can keep them up over and over. I expect at least one or two mistakes for you and the others to take advatage of.

And the FR is already sent.  :D  just get on and accept.

Well, with 75 laps to work with, I'm pretty sure you'll have plenty of time to make up for those mistakes, too.  An hour means lots of time to work.  It also should promote clean racing/passing, both as a function of the people involved and as a function of having 75 laps to make the pass with pit strategy factored in.

The pit strategy should be very interesting, indeed.  Anyone know off hand how long the MV pit is? I'm thinking that lapped traffic could come into play between pitstops.

This is going to be one helluva race, assuming that I can get myself to drop the chainsaw for two hours to test and race  :D
It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.

It's very short - go in too fast and you'll just go straight through without getting fuel or tyres.

What were you running?

I was running on the Avons then but the car wasn't really tuned as its one I built up a while ago and never did anything with... After some tuning the tyres were wearing better but I still switched to michelins and was running very slightly slower over a lap than my Avon shod ghost but I think it will go better over long distance..

I'll be in the NSX R tonight...

I'm checking my just stocked garage now for something.

Starting with a blank slate stinks out loud.  >:(

Just checked in to make sure of the specs.

Have you guys gotten the FR's yet?

If not, Drift2XL is the GT.

Also of note is that the Silvia S14 can't reach A850 in the specs, full WR, Full Avon slicks and 399 hp only gets 834PI...  :'(

It doesn't get enough tyre width so suffers in the corners, but its damn quick in a sraight line..
