It all went a bit wrong for me this weekend, although not in the way I was expecting.
Race 1 saw the dangers of running French cars

- electrical gremlins meant I failed to make it from the lobby to the race so
nul points for me

Unfortunately, that failure to start meant I was at the back of the grid for Race 2. Early on Bimmer, Resident and Bloodshot made a break leaving me, Richben and Smiffy to scrap for the lesser places. By lap 8 I'd managed to find a way past Richben and Smiffy and set about chasing after Bloodshot, who was slowly losing ground to Bimmer and Resident. By lap 14 I was on Bloodshot's bumper, and by virtue of a late apex was able to get side by side going onto the back straight. Bloodshot had a slightly faster apex thoough and by the time we got to the sweeper had extended the gap to about half a car length. Then the incident occurred...
From my viewpoint it seemed that Bloodshot turned in on me. I expect that from his viewpoint I drifted wide and hit his 3/4 panel, and that it was really a typical racing incident where both drivers tried to give the other room, but it just didn't quite happen. Unfortunately the upshot was that Bloodshot slid off into the gravel while I continued with an undamaged car. Unlike the previous 2 meetings where I seemed to be the cause of an accident, this time I felt it was a genuine 50-50 collision - if it goes to the stewards and they feel differently I'll obviously take any punishment meted out in this direction.
After that, I began chasing down Resident, who in turn was chasing down Bimmer. With a 50 lap race, we might have had different order as Resident was closing in on Bimmer and I was closing in on the pair of them. But it wasn't to be and Bimmer claimed the win.
