I just entered the tourney on a whim, I'll bet my time drops completely out of contention before its over.  My focus is going to be on finding some seconds on Tsukuba in my EVO as well as my C-class garage.  I alos recently found out that I don't have very many flowing track cars in any class except B.  Disheartening, I know but my Maple Valley times are a thorn in my side.  I don't want to go with the old faithful 2000GT in every class so I'll be spending some time on that.  Perhaps I'll come across an AWD car that fits the build and kill 2 birds with one stone.

I was diggin through and it looks like the most likely contender is the GSX/Talon for the lower classes or a build up of that car for C.  With the success of the R34, Evo and the Aerogear I may just branch out into a few more classes or track types at least.

[rant] It's annoying to me how much disparity there is in R2. I tried out the Ferrari, ran 3 laps with the Mugello Long tune from when I ran it as a random car, the 3rd was a good lap and just fell short of the qualification bar - nowhere near the top 200.

Then I picked up the yellow Saleen. This hasn't got much of a tune on it - just a basic Feuerdog v.3 with no mods. i didn't drive it very well, there were slides in about 50% of the corners. And depite all that, my 4th lap of 4 was about 2.5 seconds faster than the Ferrari. I think my time is going to be borderline top 200 by the end of the week, so it looks like I might have to stick on a v.5 and take it from there. But, it still annoys me how much slower the Ferrari is - considering the R Classes were meant to have been balanced 2.5 seconds is an awfully big difference. It's not even as if the Ferrari makes it up on other tracks. [/rant]

Sort the R cars on PI - the outcome is no joke.  There is a number hidden in there that we don't have access to.  Consider the Audi R8 R1 cars, there are 5 of them.  They have identical numbers, and with indentical builds, produce identical values on the Benchtest.  Yet when you run them, the #5 outclasses all the others.

Here's one for you to try.  Build out your R2 car with a 50/78 Toon and 90% of the max available downforce...  runs good.

There was a development over on the Daught Net and the guys over at AG Tuning have let the tune out on the 52 Second Evo 8 MR.  I'll be giving it a try soon.

I used Drifts setup yesterday and I have to say we have totally different styles.  I thought the car was pushy off throttle in the middle of the turns and it didn't seem to pull the front through like I was used to.  It did take the final sweeper with more stability than my version but I lost too much time on the hairpins to really benefit from it.  I do like your alignment settings, it is a very stable car.

Feel free to have a look on page 4 of the race setup database for your very own copy of the car that Landin had such high praises for in the last pitpass report.

Tsukuba Long A-Class is one of my weakest tracks, especially as i have yet to put any time in on it, mostly because the time gain i could get is not worth the effort, when i could run a longer track and make up over a second time.

My current top cars are:

Lancer Evo.8 MR - 0:54.757
Lancer Evo.10 - 0:54.897
Elise 135R - 0:54.958

Basically both Lancer times were made in Multiplayer rooms, hence the 8 has TCS on.  (when online i usually leave this on, as a failsafe.)  I'm pretty sure it could go faster, but i don't spend time here.  I also have to try out the 52 second tune.

So I was right in labeling this a lofty goal as I just can't seem to break into the low 54's more less the 53's.  After running at least 400 laps on Tsukuba in the MR I am totally sick of that track and the car.  Its a solid tune, solid build, and solid all around car for Tsukuba.  It even does well on some of the Test Tracks.

This project has left me with a very predictable AWD car in A-class, and a lot of information on setting up a car with 3 diff settings.  I'll be using that knowledge in the very near future as I picked up 4 new cars today surfing the auction house, all for under 20,000cr's each.

The next Spanky's Speedshop project pack will be:
BMW E30 M3 - Something to run against Bimmer's bimmer
2001 Audi S4 - Another AWD car, I think its Audi time, finally.
2008 Audi S5 - HeHe, like I said Audi time
207 Super 2000 - A little late for the challenge but I'll be building it out none the less.

I really like the S5 from its shake down run on Laguna, the S4 is a bit pushy stock, and the other 2 are still fresh.  I'll be shooting to set some good AWD times on Flowing tracks like Mugello, Suzuka East, and Maple Valley but the cars will let me know where they want to run.  Already started building the S4 so I think its up first but the S5 is one sexy beast.

You don't know how happy it makes me to see another person building an E30 - I've long wished for a comparison.

Any chance you are building it in A?

I actually started to update my A850 E30 yesterday - I need to post that up...
It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.

I have an E30, but I'm not sure where I put it.  I'm thinking either B or C.  I couldn't get the drift tendencies out of it.  I'll post it up in a few weeks.

this post hasn't gotten an update in awhile, but i just want to comment on how it has motivated me to get faster at this track.

Now my fastest car is the Renault 5 Turbo, well over a second below my fastest time posted here.  Also i have gotten a 53 in a 22b, Evo 8, Evo 10, and Elise 135R, and an Evo 9 close behind them with a 54.2xx.

Good on ya Snyder.

Even the shorter tracks need some attention once in a while.

I, too need to work on Tsukuba.  I'm convinced that I don't know the line around that place. :-\
