Welcome to all the new members who are finding their way over here.
Just a few steps in the right direction will get you in the groove in no time around here:
1. Post your builds and tunes in the "It's About the Cars" board. Not much use in asking for a tune but if you put your build up to begin with you will catch interest immediately.
2. We don't promote glitch builds or gimmick builds. We try to stay as close to real world methods as possible. We do understand that you will need some wierd stuff if you are a leaderboard chaser. It just never made any sense to most of us to brag about being number one on a track using a car that would blow up on you if you ever tried to pull it out of the drive way.
3. Use the Designer gallery to post up your paints. You can start a thread there with your name in the title and keep your own little portfolio. Those are always great so don't be shy!
4. Blooze and myself (Dirt) are the cranky old farts that run the place. This is a private board and we can get a little particular about what goes on here. We each have a garage separate from the others because it makes us feel special.
5. The first week of the month we run the pre-1976 muscle cars in a tuning challenge. Note that this is a tuning, not a racing, challenge so we try to encourage posting tunes, builds, and driving notes for discussion. If you run out front we will probably pick on you until we catch up...LOL. We use the honor system around here so you are trusted to post your times and comply with the series specs.
6. We practice full disclosure of information unless it involves unsavory pictures of Blooze and a farm animal. We don't need to know about that. But we don't keep secret techniques and we don't encourage selling tunes.
7. We support each other. Just goes without saying but, hell, I went and said it anyway.
8. Check out the member garages. Those guys have earned a spot of their own by sticking with the site and making contributions. We are getting pretty picky about who gets one. If you have an agenda of your own that does not involve the advancement of the game for folks around here you don't need to ask for one.
9. Don't try to change things around here. We like it the way it is.
10. Nobody here is an expert and yet everybody here has their own expertise. Respect is what it is all about. We don't talk down to each other and we have a big hammer to knock down any pedestals that get erected. A good sense of humor helps, too.
Like I said, welcome. We're glad you came.
