See, OSS is going to be looking for some performance parts--kinda like Rousch Racing does--but the kinda stuff we don't do in OSS. So, you might get a phone call in an upcoming episode as we try to expand the Solstice project--thinking we could sub-contract with your house.

What the heck.

How far do you want to go with it......LS7 will just barely fit in the engine bay.

Well, I did some research...

Apparently, the special drift engine has cast iron cylinder sleeves (?) and full race port heads, etc. so we need a shop we can contract with to supply us with those parts (story-wise, of course). I was going to work you into the story as the shop we hire to do that for us...GM isn't being so generous with no name teams at the moment...if that's alright with you...LOL

Sounds good.

I have been thinking about pulling out the liners and boring out the cylinder walls in a Silvia four. Then coming back in with a custom siamese bore set-up, and cranking up the boost. Good practice.

I get with RMR to see if they contracted Darton for the cylinder sleeves. If boost is involved, gotta reach Cometic for some MLS gaskets and .... where is that number for Comp Cams at....

If you have ever heard of an all aluminum enigine, it isn't. The cylinders have a iron sleeve for the pistons to run up and down in. Kinda like a diesel has.

Most factory engines use a "ductile iron" sleeve. Conducts heat away pretty good, and has about the same expansion rate as the hypereutectic piston its matched with. The cast liners have more ridigity and can withstand more boost pressure-compression, and matches better with a forged piston, which is nessesary with anything over 9psi boost.

I read that the RMR Solstice can run upwards of 35psi and 12.5 comp. But its using E85. At full tune it can exceed 800HP. Not bad for a girly car. ;D
