Drift's LMMS standard set up
« on: December 03, 2007, 08:41:07 PM »
The LMMS cars I have tuned all have virtually the same tune. This was my appilcation of the wide reaching Wb/Blooze Toon blanket set up. It works. Perhaps to a fault. Now I'm going back through all my full tuned FR cars and applying it to all of them. So far, the two C Class Silvia's I have put this under have set new best times on all the tracks they have been on

Disclaimer:
I like a slightly less understeery car than most you. I tend to be more reliant on small throttle and steering adjustments than on heavy amounts of trailbraking, brake checking. For instance, on the chicanes at the end RdAtl and Mugello, I tend to only lift between the turns. Relying on the weight tranfer of the car to dig into the track.

The D2XL FR set up
Tire    29/28
cam   1.5/1.1
toe      0/+.2
cast    5.4
ARB    14/16
Spr   550/500
Reb    7.3/7.9
bum   4.5/3.5
Brk     49%F  100%P
aero    balanced F/R, dependant on tire width  ex. 125/125
Diff    40 Acc/30 Dec

The camber is completly dependant on tire compound and weight. A slick requires as much as .3 deg more than a DOT. Also heavier, softer sprung cars require more also.

My typical camber settings are;   as above for slicks;    1.2/0.8 for DOT/Y rated.    With a large side wall stock tire (Cobra, Muscle cars) Somewhere in between slick and street, dependant on tire temps in testing.

For those that think the spring rates are too soft/strong. Set the rear spring rate and use a 1.1 multiplier.
All other settings should stay the same. For more understeer/stable feel up the multiplier

Surprisingly, no toe tricks in this tune. Just a solid build.

I applied it to the S Class Viper CompCoupe. Worked just the same as the A class terrors. Good F/R balance and reacts well to throttle manipulation. I felt it got descent times despite a heavy curb weight and lack of adjustable DF.

The C Class Silvia's use a 440/400 spring due to the lighter weight and much smaller tire. The other settings remained the same.
