Recieved an Invite to a D-class room last night and though it was an appropriate time to showcase the D-class cars online.  I was up against unrestricted Muscles as well as an onslaught of GSX's and MkII's.

We ran Suzuka West 4-5 times at 5 laps a pop and I was easily 1st or 2nd most races.  I couldn't reel in a
Charger on the straights but I was easily faster in all of the twisties.  I was also 2 second off the leaders pace so skill played a big part in that.

Next it was on to Suzuka East, not a muscle friendly track, time for the Z to shine.  Again a solid 2nd place showing followed by a chance win due to a first turn wreck I avoided quite luckily.  Some beatin and bangin set up a couple rivalries in the room and unfortunately I was involved in one of them.  Race 3 was a revenge round and I was punted off the line by a FnF GSX replica and offered a verbal "Finger".  I'll take it, what can I do quit.  Entering the first turn with a full head of steem and passing him on the inside was revenge enough.  I did manage a PIT maneuver on the backstretch after which he promplty quit, bastard.  Turns out I did the room a favor as the host was ready to boot if he didn't leave on his own.

Next was Silverstone.  [sarcasm]My Favorite[/sarcasm]  I let the Z shine, pulled a solid 2nd behind the Charger again, but in a Z after 4 laps I was stil within 100 meters at the line.  Not too shabby.  Unfortunately the rivalries continued and it was heated this time not just in fun.  We only ran this race once.

Host Rules- if the room is unruly, go to the Ring.  Everyone that sucks will quit right.  Nope same full room.  Pulled out the Boss for this one and was rewarded by having to chase 2 Chargers around 13 miles of agony.  I could pull up to them in the twisties but no room to pass meant they would pull on the straights.  This track we musta run about times.  The Boss was a solid 9 minute car and I think I even pulled out a 9:02.xxx.  I'll have to check.

Moral of the Story:  We proved that these builds can to well, not great but well on short tracks and each time I've run them online I have been successful, not dominant but successful in a lot of situations.  I think the restrictions are very good and I look forward to "pushing the envelope" of what these cars are capapble of in real person to person competition.  So far so good.

BTW the host knew of a bunch of you EXOR guys and asked if I did as well because all of my times were set unassisted so if you guys race with GrampaTuff, tell him I said Hi.  I was the guy on his bumper most of the night.

Fit, thanks for that synopsis.  Glad to see our D Class Muscle has a chance in a normal room.  Will be awesome to get together a whole room of D Class Muscle !

GrampaTuff doesn't ring a bell to me...but I've spent minimal time online in the last few months...up until the last week or two.

I wanted to get a clarification on the S^4 series build requirements. I believe I have one or two cars that meet it but not sure.
The car must have full Race Platform/Handling upgrades, excluding Weight Reduction.  Whether or not to use WR is left to the builder.

Does this mean that ALL of the entries in the SUSPENSION upgrade area, with the stated exception to the Weight Reduction Heading, need to be applied
Does the S^4 spec require the following:
Race Brakes
Race Springs
Race ARB
Race Tranny
Race Clutch
Race Flywheel
Race Driveshaft
Race Differential

thnx,
wanna make sure I got the intent or am I'm being to literal.

Shyner-that is the original spec that we tested in the inaugural running of the series.  However it was suggested, tested and changed to this:

All Adjustable Platform parts, minimum 215 width tires, everything else is up to the builder, rear wing mandatory.

I'm pretty sure its due for an update in the series rules thread but we'll get to that later.

ok, just to be a pita,

"Adjustable parts"

So the only REQUIRED parts in the suspension category would be"
race brakes, race springs, race arb, race tranny, and race differential.
all other suspension category entries are at tuners preference.

thnx for the further clarification.

You are correct, sir.  No mandated flywheel, clutch, driveshaft, or weight reduction.  That will free up a couple of PI for the cars that are close to 400 to begin with.

All of my cars are still built to the old spec so even in a series I helped develop my cars aren't the best they could be.

I'll work to the new spec and see if this changes the Boss Mustang.  I wonder whether the extra room for hp will be an issue.
