Aww darn.  That means I have to retune my 'Cuda to run a wing.  Other than that it fits spec.  Hopefully not too hard a transition...

Hope you feel better soon, Blooze man  :)

Thanks Bimmer!  I appreciate that. :)

Everything that I have seen so far points towards faster lap times with the wing, except on the Nissan Roundy Round.

Get well soon!  Also, some of the cars with less torque suffer from the drag of the aero.  Detrick can explain it better than I can.  But yes, on the muscle cars, you're definitely right.

Thanks Newt and Fender... :)

Well, if a feller were to want to get a laig up on the April challenge he might want to start building out Muscle cars to that spec and running them on the Amateur Iron Works races...

My only current muscle car in C is a Charger on Sport tires.  Any reason for the Y tires vs. sport?  Does sport eliminate some of the cars or something?

It is a progression of sorts...

Stock Tires = D
Street (Y) Tires = C
Sport (DOT) Tires = B

and like that.  DOT tires on most of the Muscle cars will use up all the PI.

Hope the earache goes soon Blooze, it's awful feeling under the weather.

I forsee a rebuild approaching - the only muscle car I have in C is the Chevelle, which for obvious reasons would only be considered (by me) on the twisty stuff. Now, do I build up the Challenger (to copy TJN :P) or knock down one of those Mustangs......

The Mustang had its chance to shine in D, and the ZR1 has become my workhorse in B.  I'm hoping to find something entirely different for C, maybe the challenger, so all of the "big three" are there.

I have all 12 of 'em lined up for a build and a QR...  getting the old Round Tuit is most likely the major issue.

I did a quick test of this during lunch today.  I retired my Charger down to Y 215s and also built a Z28 from scratch with Y 215s and then ran them through the Amature Iron Works races.  No shocker the Charger walked away from the Z on NY but they were fairly even on the other two.  My Charger race time was actually better on Laguna but I think I was just cleaner.  I had a slightly better lap time in the Z.  The Z took the RAS race time but the lap times were less than a second apart.  Utimately the Charger would probably do better with wider tires.

So my initial thoughts, these cars are pretty fun running this spec and should race pretty close on all but the total power tracks (nissan or ny)

FYI Spiny, my challenge hints were supposed to hint that we need a challenge for these soon rather than to hint I want to run a Challenger.

True, but the 'Cuda's rear wing is, um... unique, shall we say.

I didn't get a chance to really get into these cars over the weekend.  I may this week, I may not.  Regardless, I have a Camaro built and I will convert my Cuda later today, so I'm ready for any online racing.

PS: The reason, IIRC, that my Cuda lacks a wing is that it was built out for one of them fancy dancy ( <- Sarcasm) series-type thangs, and they didn't allow Aero.  It is one of my better setup cars, so I had never really thought about changing it.

I wonder - should I use the same build and tune as on the non-aero car, or should I bring the tune down from B or A class...

We can still use the front wing, right?

Yes.  Nothing was said about excluding it.
