I hear you, guys.  This current challenge is meant to be a data-gathering affair to allow me to cut down the list.

It looks like it isn't working...  :'(

It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.

Too much gathering required.  In my opinion...no one has even posted a single time yet.  I think that it can still be changed.  I would pick one of the groups of 5 cars that you already have in your list use them as the cars for the current challenge.  I would imagine not too much time has been spent on them yet as no one has posted a single time or any discussion about a time.

EDIT:  Also, I don't see an end date/time listed either.  May be helpful.

As to the lack of times, I know a couple of regulars are out of commission, since I got in about 11pm last night, Snyder had a weekend vacation of some sort, and Fit got an RROD sometime this weekend.  Fit and I are usually pretty quick to post a time, and then approach our "best" time iteratively.  Lots of folks prefer to post a time when it's at least closer to a finished product.  I'll post a time in something later this afternoon (in the middle of something right now-taking a lunchbreak from the thesis).  However, I rarely venture into the "upper" classes, with A being sort of my unofficial cap.  I guess I'm saying I'll post a time, but don't expect it to be great.

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to dwindle down the car list to me fndr  ;) .

Hence my issue - I don't want to chisel down the car list after the challenge has started, only to kill the car someone is working on, but it may have to be done.

Does this look more reasonable?  Call it Europe meets America (which is what I guess is what Daytona 24 hours is)

Ferrari F430
BMW M3 GTR
Porsche 997 GT3
Dodge Viper GTS ACR
Chervrolet Corvette Z06
Panoz Esperante GTLM
TVR Sagaris

I'm almost positive those can all take race weight and slicks and stay in S.  Is anyone able to check the Viper, Vette, Sagaris, and F430?

Well, I just posted a time in the Lotus Esprit.  It won't be a class beater, but it's ahead of my Enzo Ferrari by about 2 seconds, though I admittedly spend almost no time in S-class.

The Esprit can fit with that group.

That group look good?  I hope so...

Edit: Looks like some intrest in trickling in.  Even if people only run one or two cars each, that's a good amount of data.  I'm thinking this challenge will probably be left as-is.  Later ones will be much more focused.

I just finished the results tables.  I'm going to post them up in a new thread for SRS Results.

Scratch that.  They are in this post  :)
