Blasts from the Past
« on: October 11, 2007, 05:16:42 AM »
I went a-looking for my original suspension post and ran across a few things that I thought were funny/interesting... whatever.  Anyhow, the old timers might get a hoot out of them...  the new timers might get an idea where this all sort of comes from.

GICheeze Fired!!  Kind of amusing...

This thread has Feuerdog's entry into the Forza Community, his first calculator and I think the first out and out tuning duel.  It was a pretty popular thread for awhile until some idiot named Chuckmeister got in the middle of it.

This thread was a later version of my spring philosophy.  It is sort of cool to read it now in hindsight.  I was pretty close back then, but not quite...

Thanks for the history lesson.  ;)

Pretty entertaining with the Chuckmeister/General E pissing match.  I realize that at the time it was probably pretty annoying to have those guys crash your thread, but from my perspective, it was pretty funny.  Loved your comeback to CIA boy.

Also very informative with the Spring Stuff/Feuerdog Calc threads.  I've just recently realized what a big difference a good tune can do for my lap times.  Been following all the recent weight bias info and applying it to my old setups.  So far I've bettered every single lap time I've ran with the new setups.      It's pretty frickin' cool.  When my wife sees me sit down to play Forza with a calculator in my hand, she just shakes her head.....

Anyhow, thanks again.  :)

LOL

My wife said to me one time, "It's one thing to holler at me to come back here and look at a paint job, and it is entirely something else to holler at me to come look at a spreadsheet.  There is a very fine line between genius and crazy as a bedbug and I think you have found it."

I'm glad the tuning stuff is helping you out.

Those leaderboard heros used to get after each other no matter what thread they were in, like it was their right to be obtrusive and rude because they were at the top of the leaderboard.  There was another guy named MuffinManja that was just as bad.  We finally got them clowns to leave our threads alone.

I was never on those boards but I did have pleasure of racing with General E Live on several occasions.  I didn't like him very much.  God forbid you were in "HIS" line around a track or running anything other than what he thought would be fast around a particular track.  I stopped racing online after a long jam session with him on Maple Valley in the famous CRX.  I was only a few tenths behind him after 7-8 laps and then he hops inbehind me and proceeds to tear my racing line/style apart with narration.

"You should be going at least 107 through the turn, Why are you hitting the brakes there, take the last turn on the far inside."

At first I thought maybe he had come around and was helping out then he pits me into the barricade right before the start/finish line and starts anting about how us rookies are holding up his fast times.  I was litterally less than .700 behind him and I was a rookie.  I assume an intermediate driver would have been .200 behind and that noone could ever match his skills.  What a donkey.

I totally offended him by not having a different setup for everycar on every track.  "How can you race like that, I have tunes for each track for every car"  What a prissy little female dog he was.  Thinking about it still gets me all ryled up.
Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.
