Production Car Hopper
« on: August 16, 2010, 02:12:54 PM »
I still don't understand the design decsion for using hoppers but this new one sounds interesting:

The Cycled Production Car hopper is a fresh new addition to the Forza Motorsport 3 hopper family. This is the hopper for those of you looking to put your skills to the test because this is a “no upgrades” and “no tuning” hopper. In the Cycled Production Car hopper, it is all about driving skill, not about the car. Featuring 30 different car and track combinations and races with an average length of eight to ten minutes, the Cycled Production Car hopper is sure to give you hours of track time in the circuit hoppers.

I did some racing in it today, it was fun, but you really have to be careful in the first corner or you may get rammed.

It was a worse today, I have had some decent hopper racing lately. I guess it just depends upon who you get in the room.

Those actually look like a lot of fun.  Haven't played in the hoppers since............hell I don't even remember.  I know I've done it but I can't rememeber the last time.  *sounds like something else married men have to ponder*

May be worth giving open racing another shot IMO.
Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

They're actually really fun.  I love the 69 Charger @ Road America in particular.  Like Warpedo up there says, you gotta watch out for the turn 1 heroes, but if you can escape the first lap clean the races tend to be pretty awesome.  They're longer too, most of them are 7-10 minutes long each.  T10 also bumped the end-race timer to 45 seconds.

Really there's only been a handful of combinations that weren't at least somewhat exciting.  The two that I can think of right off-hand are the R3 cars.  That Subaru/Mugello and Audi/Sunset Infield combo just doesn't quite do it for me.

Leapin' lizards! Road America is in the Production Car hopper/playlist? I don't think I've enjoyed RA in a single online race since FM3 released.

'Bout frickin' time!

Seriously, what an under-appreciated track that is!  I guess it gets no love cause the kiddies can't drift it?

Room was pretty silent, but the racing wasn't bad.  That was my first trip online in a while.  I went wire to wire in a Lotus Evora, then they voted to skip the Lotus Elan, which I thought was the worst decision...IN THE WORLD.  (Sorry, just watched a couple of top gear clips.)

I jumped into this today and had some really excellent races.  I don't know if I got lucky or only the people who actually want to race are still playing the game.  The all stock cars really kept the races close.

My only gripe is that my favorite cars (low hp old foreign stuff on slow, technical tracks) gets voted to skip for less interesting (to me) fare.
