Ah,...this explains why this car has reared it ugly head at the top of so many leaderboards.

As more of a driver than a racer I would probably weight my car more heavily into the aesthetics department than in performance, but only slightly. Just as there is a balance between thrilling and unstable, I would want my ultimate car to do many things well,.....and look good doing so.

An Eclipse?!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  ;D

I put a Porsche 930T on my storefront recently, new V7 tune and all, a special test release for the public.

I have not really attempted to use it on the leaderboards, but it does represent what I consider a runner for a personal BCG.

To each thier own.
Variety is the spice of life!

Psssst... did he call my car ugly?  Huh?

Sounds like he did...

He did!  By GAWD...

HE called MY CAR UGLY??!

Well, the nerve...

Next time you're down to the car shoppe you might want to check the sillouette of the Eclipse and that of the Modena Ferrari, or half a dozen others.  Why, it has a profile very similar to that of your Porch, except for the snow shovel ya got stickin' out of the deck lid...

BCG huh?

How many races have ya run with it?  I've run 295 with my "Eclipse"

How much money have ya won?  I've won 2,828,593 with my "Eclipse"

How many miles ya drove ?  I've driven 2041.11 with my "Eclipse"

How many Classes does your Toon handle?  Except for FD changes, I've run the same Toon in 5 different classes.  And not just tried them out - but ran 'em...  on Kaido, on Positano, on the Worlds circuits, and I've set top times for me in every class with my "Eclipse"

How many Classes have you finished with your car...  I've done the heavy lifting in 3 different classes with my "Eclipse" - and soon to be a fourth and a fifth...

Don't come in here sniggerin' at my little car when all you got on yours is a billboard...

Bring something with you...  show me Fueredog and Porsche 930T on every snake track, and on every Kaido track, and on every Positano track in a class, now in another class.

Show me that you took this car racing and that you made a living with it.

Telling me that you tuned it and put it on the storefront doesn't impress me hardly at all...

I think you need to read the OP again - this ain't no beauty contest - how a car looks was only one of six bullets.   Or were you just looking for a chance to plug your new calculator again?

Still, I've hijacked the Eclipse's thread for long enough :D
This isn't just for the Eclipse, but for discussion (or cussion) about anybody's choice for BCG.  You say the Nissan 370Z so you get to defend and prove your statement...

It would help if I would get the damned data sheets done so people could see better what I am talking about. ;D  Maybe tonight...

For first gear, I was still in the process of sneaking up on it, or down on it, as it were...  There is a place where the car quits pullin' off the throttle and high RPM down shifts will grenade the engine... didn't want to go there.

I gotta agree with Feuer...i'm not a big fan of the Eclipse's looks either... give me an e-type anyday...   8)

*runs away as Blooze appears out the office with a 12bore, shouting 'I'll show ya ugly, ya pair of...!'*

For its performance though, I agree it has to be a contender for BCG, it has put down some great times in a lot of different classes...

I'm as yet undecided on my own BCG, I have a few cars in my garage that could be contenders but i'm not sure that any one quite ticks all the boxes enough and most of them have only been tried in 1 class...

Extra smokey.... now with no assists!

Ah,...this explains why this car has reared it ugly head at the top of so many leaderboards.

As more of a driver than a racer...[rest of post]

Ah, but I had just started my thread there with hilighting those other two lines when I noticed this... In the Very FIRST LINE!

whups... spilt my coffee again...   :-\

;D

There's gonna be some more times in and around Kaido and Positano too.   The little dood is killer on the uphill runs in A Class, but only about par with my 997 RS on the down hill runs.  I wonder why that is...  It does take off like a scalded rabbit with the grade and all - its not hard to out run the grip.  I may need to look into the brakes.  I got them set at 48/100 with ABS right now.

At any rate, I still got all the Snakes in all the classes to do.  There ought to be some time there... just got to figure out how to get paid on those short tracks.  I did manage to knock 10 seconds off the A Class snakes just runnin' the back half the other night.

The way this A class build is shaping up I may put a cancel order in on the S Class build.  There's no more grip to be had and the thing is already a little too strong for its own good...

I don't understand the dissing on its looks though... it is low and wide, and from the side it looks like damn near every other modern sports car.   But of course, if an MG-B is the sort of thing that gets your plate to spinnin', I can understand it a little...

...maybe...

...remember to watch out for the dots...

*grumble grumble*.....It's dot stompin' time.....

Very well Mr GICheese, if it's war you want it's war you shall have.

Eclipish,....pffeh....

Not only can I eclipse your times, but I could do it while maintaining a 45 hour work week, and more importantly, I wouldn't spill my coffee in the process.

I could beat all my personal times across multiple classes with just one car too,....but unfortunately my times are not so slow as to be easily beaten. In addition, as an appreciator of automotive art, I chose to utilize a wide variety capable, and aesthetically pleasing, vehicles, instead of pigeonholing myself to just one.

The generosity I showed you, an assumed friend, by allowing you to be seen in such an abomination of motion, is appearantly lost in the trivialities of scorekeeping. The true racer ricer it seems that I have awoken inside of you is lost on the fine art of sheer driving pleasure and experience.
Beauty is but one aspect of the suckage possesed by that thing you call a car.

Man and machine on the open road. No stopwatches, no pits, no red lights, just automotive bliss.

It's a level of high art that can only be reserved for true "drivers" of the finest automobiles on the planet.
Vehicles from Germany, for example.

I am truely sorry that my.... AWESOME TUNING CALCULATOR, has created such a problem for you on this forum. If need be I will remove all mention of my..... AWESOME TUNING CALCULATOR from these forums. I only hope that my.... AWESOME TUNING CALCULATOR has provided some level of use and enjoyment for the friends I still have on this forum.

I will stand aside though and let you and your soapbox create yet another of the much needed leaderboard cars we are all so fond of.

PS: I cleaned the bugs off my Porsches bumper with your coffee filter this morning.

My favorite car in the game?  458 Italia.  A completely emotional choice too, the only numbers I know about the car are 250k list price and
ferrari says it's aero produces 360kg of downforce at full speed due to the help of some "aeroelastic winglets".  More on the aero here: http://www.ferrari.com/English/GT_Sport%20Cars/CurrentRange/458-Italia/Innovation_Technologies/Pages/Article_090914-458-Italia-Aerodynamics.aspx  Just fell in love so it may be a bit of lust at first sight but the crew at Jalopnik had a nice little video up today showing off a 911gt3rs and the ferrari 458 italia.  http://www.evo.co.uk/videos/supercarvideos/251455/ferrari_458_italia_v_porsche_911_gt3_rs.html  At about 6 mins and 2 seconds into the video a tear fell from my eye and I had to holler the wife over to hear the most beautiful sound I've heard.  My wife, not a car gal, even liked it.  The engine note's part cougar growl, part p51 mustang and all Ferrari.  I told her right then I was going to and sure enough I did go straight on FM3 and spent that quarter mil without blinking an eye or looking near the Auction House.  It had to be new you know?  I wanted that thing with a big 0 on the odometer.  Those guys at Maranello sure where nice to use a dolly to get my new baby in and out of the shipping container and to my garage.  Beware of car porn at 6:32 in the video btw.  I'll be spending a lot of time in S class and above it seems.  A couple of pics are in the storefront for the curious.

My initial weapon of choice, and I did have a selection...., will be the muscular/angular classic....

1984 Toyota Supra

This cars got a very large bag of tools to choose from.
It is multi-class capable, from E and beyond, has a wide variety of grip and power options, and in my opinion looks quite good too.

Have I driven the hell out of it? No. But it's good looking enough that I will, and it's already topped the list of my personal E class cars.

I've been following this thread since creation.  I was also leaning towards the Celica Supra.  I'm working out an F class bomber for the past couple of days now and its coming along fairly well and can hold its own in the hoppers.  Once I get it into an F room with EXOR guys though, it becomes middle of the pack quite quickly.

Another option that would be a bit more likely to be my BCG would the the little RX7 Savanna..  Just wish we had a first gen so I could run an RX in F class.

Your RX7 could certainly be a contender.

I can't help but choose my Infiniti G37, built to A600. This car springs like a panther, runs like a cheeta, and has the curves of a kitten sweater model. (Ya, I'm showing my age).
Funny, I'm not a big fan of cats, but got caught up in the analogy. That, and I'm a bit biased. I drive a G35X.
Well, tonight I finally finished the Event events. God, what a chore that was. So, now I can devote a bit of time to looking for improved times. I must admit I was prone to posting a first clean run and moving on. We'll see.
