I thought I'd point out in case some of you are not checking, the leader board is split between two threads today.  This was mostly a test.  The split is "the closest full class to half the record count"  It will go back to being one the next time the board is updated because the split is not required at this time.

I also kobbled a class header for the tables.

The Leaderboard is current at this point.

I'm looking forward to the report Spiny.  I've seen your Brera times - taking them down will be no mean feat...

Blooze toon 370Z, B500

Hmm. It seems that the Brera is safe for a bit yet. After Kaido and the 'Ring I realised this was not going to happen - best I can hope for is a reasonable improvement. And then I went out on Positano.... and fell back some more :-[

Basically, I was quicker around Kaido in your tune by a little over 2 seconds, but then gave away half a second on each of the other tracks to my build. I can't put my finger on why that was either, but best guess is that it comes down to the old "driving style" issue again. As with all your other tunes, it was extremely stable. But, especially on Positano I felt that the front end didn't want to dive into the corner in quite the way I like it. I suspect that may also be the reason why I lost 3(!) seconds on Kaido B - that section has a lot of double apex corners where the first one is relatively easy and the second one pretty tight. Although I felt more confident overall in your car, I'm pretty sure that I was losing most of the time in those types of corners, just from being slower in and out. Certainly, there was nothing in the run to suggest I'd lost 3 seconds, to be honest I had to go and recheck my time to be sure I hadn't written it down wrong first time around. Must say I was surprised, because with your gearing the car definitely lugged less out of corners, although I did get caught between gears a couple of times.

So, here's the times. First table nice and clean for if you update the table again. Second table is the same figures, but I coloured the stages in green if my tune was quicker and blue if yours was better.

N = 124.675; 116.333; 143.343; 142.409
K = 129.730; 172.572; 117.534; 114.131
P = 98.999; 82.283; 100.350; 115.999

N = 124.675; 116.333; 143.343; 142.409
K = 129.730; 172.572; 117.534; 114.131
P = 98.999; 82.283; 100.350; 115.999

I make that 526.760 @ the 'Ring, 533.967 @ Kaido and 397.631 @ Positano. And that should give a total of 1458.358s if my maths are right.

Next week's task - I intend to run my tune with the revised gear set Blooze suggested last week. I'm hoping this will combine the best of both worlds and lead to a bit more of an improvement.

Thanks for the report Spiny!  Sorry to be so long getting back to you...  some stuff got stuck on the ole Tuit List this week with all the hullabaloo going on over to the Shop.

I have a similar problem to your's with the Brera, only mine is with the Scirocco - I think the only thing that is going to get next to those Kaido times my Brera, or the Scirocco its self.  Not the Nissan, or the GSX for that matter...

I have developed what I call the "Spiny Mod" for my builds...  what it amounts to is a slight Bias change for the Roll Bars.  It is difficult to explain, but what it amounts to is a bias of 49.5% but not quite.  At any rate, it makes the rear end a little bit more lively - there is a bit more turn to lifting off.  I'll get a build over to you (tuit list) so you can check it out...

That should be pretty interesting, your build with a set of B2 Engineering gears.  Let me know how it works out.

Buck wanted me to post the preliminary result for the B Class GSX.  He was whining something about getting shut down by the accountants before he could polish things up...

Anyhow,
N = 126.893; 119.369; 146.030; 146.129
K = 126.843; 169.119; 121.388; 117.250
P = 101.351; 81.915; 104.955; 119.352

Do you ever have days when it just doesn't serve to try to race?  Like every time is a second or so off what you normally run?  I sure do.  The important part is to get in your head that it is in your head and not go tearing the car's build all to hell to try to fix it...  That is me... A lot!

Yes, I do get those days where I'm off the pace. And it's even worse if you go online on one of those days because you get caught in every accident going. Even if you are being ultra-careful knowing you're off form, you still seem to get caught up in every other accident going. And since you're having an off day, you end up totally unable to make up the time lost.

I agree about the Brera. I'm sure there is something in the garage which can beat it, but the Nissan won't have a chance unless I go 4WD. It's just losing too much time on traction. But, I've generally avoided drivetrain swaps so far - only the Mk2 Golf (to my shame) and the Aveo (which is great fun) so far. This week has been a bit hectic - may end up being more like the weekend before I run the 370Z. But with a bit of luck I can shave a little more time off...

Finally got around to the much anticipated Spiny-tune/Blooze-gears version. What a let down :'(

First couple of runs at the 'Ring, I actually went back and reran it. I couldn't see where the time was lost, but a rerun just confirmed it. This combination, which all the feel from the first two builds suggested should be the best, just wasn't. It was (just!) fastest on a couple of the Positano stages, but was slowest of the three at most of the rest. And it was slowest in each environment when the stages were totalled. Not really sure where I lost the time either. I'd have suspected my driving, but my online performances have been better of late than they were 3 weeks or so ago, so I feel that's not the issue. I'd suspect I'm losing time off the line, but why is this tune suffering from 1st bogging down and not Blooze's?

The best I can come up with is that the gearing is just slightly wrong for the tune and my driving. Whereas Blooze gained 2-3 seconds with his gears, I can barely make an impression. Very often I find I'm running out of gear as I get close to the braking zone and I suspect that may be part of my problems with this tune... but that's only a suspicion as to why I'm struggling with Build 3. It's not like I'm hitting the rev limiter, it's just that my rate of acceleration is somewhat slowed as I get above the red line.

So, without any further ado, here are the times:
N = 125.459; 117.033; 143.777; 142.409
K = 130.464; 172.272; 118.385; 115.966
P = 100.334; 82.032; 100.417; 115.699

Compared to the Spiny (red) and Blooze (blue) tunes, each environment yielded times of:
N = 527.894 (+1.752, +1.134)
K = 537.087 (+0.868, +3.120)
P = 398.482 (+1.284, +0.851)

As you can see, it was slower everywhere and some of those time gaps aren't even particularly small, especially on Kaido. That's me done for the Targa Forza now. Guess I'm the last one to finish, but it's been fun 8)
