Note!  For simplicities sake, I had to change the specs for the Targa to just the Circuits - ie, no Reversed Circuits.

Sorry - but the spreadsheet was going to be a hastle to create and maintain the other way.

Reporting my first run through each...

B500 - E46 M3 (Heidi)
Positano Full - 6:32.768 (cert)
Fujimi Kaido - 8:40.130 (cert)
Nurburgring - 8:27.100 (cert)

Driver's Notes:

Positano: HOLYCRAPTHATWASFUN.  This really felt like Targa, especially considering I have the least track knowledge - I really had to drive what my eyes could see, not what my brain expected.

Kaido: Boatloads of wheelspin on the first half of the uphill - there seem to be a lot of mid-corner bumps (perhaps I'm hopping over road camber?).  Also harder to keep it clean here; I stuffed it three times before I got a wreck-free run (plus one time I clipped the wall and decertified.  Once I got over the top of the hill, it was smooth, clean, fast sailing.  That said, I did cook the tires a bit  :-[

Nurburgring: It's the Nurburgring.  Not much else I can say - I love it, Heidi loves it.

I'm in too.

I'm starting out slooow.

F 200
Porsche 914/6
Pos. - 7:18.768
Kaid - 9:37.933
Nurb - 9:51.879

Not a 'Ring tune for sure. Top speed is 128 on the downhill. Struggling up the hill. Kaido killed it on the up swing as well. Downhill was as much fun as you can have with your clothes on.

Its a solid car. Just not up hills or top speed wise. Really consistant though.

Next up is an E Class 'Ring car. 300 SL gullwing.

Here's a list of last year's entrants. If anyone wants to emulate the real world cars, here are the competitor's cars. Some may be in FM3, some we might be able to get close.

What about a stock category?  I ran a stock Honda Fit on the Ring a while back comparing to some other guys which, as silly as it sounds, turns out was pretty fun.

Been lurking around these parts for a little while now. I too have been smitten by the Newfie Targa. Thought I'd give it a go in slow little car. The Fiat 131 Abarth sounds fantastic and has just enough tail-wag to make it loads of fun. Much more enjoyable on Positano and Kaido where you can really throw it around.

Fiat 131 Abarth (Stock F134)

Positano: 7:13.474
Kaido: 9:58.105
'Ring: 10:19.341

All times certified and from a standing start.

Cheers   ;)

P.S. TheJohnNewton, the car was bone stock if you want to give it a spin.

Doh! I'll have to go back and re-run Positano as D class is the Reverse track... On the bright side though I did set a new PB.  ;D

The Alfa Giulia was tons of fun round these 3 tracks, its Ring time wasn't so far off the pace either, not going so fast meant I didn't have to brake so much and its probably the most fun i've ever had driving there. Its just a great feeling driving a low powered car flat out it kinda reminds me of driving my first car, flying down country lanes flat out but barely nudging the 60mph speed limit with its 50hp.

D350 - Alfa Giulia

Kaid - 9:13.005
Pos - To Be Updated
Nurb - 9:33.317

I saved the replays and put them up on my storefront and grabbed a couple of pictures while I was at the Ring.

Extra smokey.... now with no assists!

Wiped the dirt off the old Commodore VE and retorqued the wheels before setting out with a full tank of gas to burn on three laps of racing.  I managed to scoot through all of the tracks with AI and all certified times.  They couldn't keep up in F102 Datsuns!!  I learned three things.

1) No matter what the gearing I couldn't crest 190mph in the Holden with 100% aero settings and any less than that the rear end was a wash.

2) Kaido uphill was a lesson in throttle control that no amount of time on Maple Valley in a Shelby Cobra could ever teach, ever!!!

3) I should have had the drift meter up all the way around Positano, just fast enough to skirt between 3rd and 4th and that is just fast enough to be thankful the front is planted and the rear is free.  Wow, what a ride that was.

#2 Holden Commodore VE R3(Pi727)
The Ring - 7:52.085
Fujimi Kaido - 8:34.698
Ralley de Positano - 6:18.777

Cool Bob.  You Fiat beat my Fit by about 9 seconds on the Ring.  I'll have to give the Fiat a try.

Pete,

That is one sweet looking ride. I'm definitely going to have to give this car a try.

Before I called it a night I had to have one last run but the only other car on the hauler was my F200 Muscle Mongoose '79 Camaro.  What the hey, I gave it a run and hoped for the best.  Turns out it does well on just about everywhere but these three tracks.  The "Anaconda's" tore this thing to shreds.  Not by beating and bashing but by pointing out glaring deficiencies is power.  My ole Chevy just isn't up to pulling it's lard butt up the mountian or around the Ring at anything faster than 127mph.  That's not enough!!  However it did set a personal best on Positano and I'll take that any day.  If only I could shave a few more seconds off and give Bob or Drift a run for it....?  Hmmm.

The Ring - 10:03.941
Fujimi Kaido - 9:58.606
Positano - 7:21.062

A bit off pace but man does she sound good opened up and all the grip I tossed at it makes it easy to hustle around corners.  Too bad its a heavy car.  Perhaps E-class would suit her a bit better.  Now you got me thinkin.....there better not be a GMPP catalog in the hauler or my credit card may get a workout before we pack this one up.

Wow!  Did you ever hear the phrase, "...like ducks on a bug?"  I should have the leaderboard up in an hour or so.

Good job everybody!

Our router at home is on the fritz, so I had to run offline.  I've gotten to really love the Ring, and I pretty much hate Positano and Kaido (except for the new downhill run ... that's a blast).  The little Toyota 2000GT has become a favorite of mine in E, so I stripped it down and gave it a go in F.  It doesn't have a lot of guts, put by playing around with the FD I was able to get pretty good results from it.  It's got a standard F'dog (March 2010 version) tune on it, and these were all standing start, certified laps run in test drive mode:

   F200 Toyota 2000GT

   Ring:         597.953
   Positano:   445.048
   Kaido:       595.996
   Targa:     1638.997

I can probably squeeze a bit more out of the Ring, but as for Positano and Kaido, I was just happy to get clean laps; I've got no idea how much more I can get out of those.  :-\  When I tried running balls-to-the-wall, I de-certed each time.

Leaderboard is Current to this point.

What's the "S" column?  I admit to being confused as to the organization of the leaderboard...  ??? :-[

You may have noticed that the Forza classes don't sort very well all by themselves, at least they don't show up in the order they are in the game all by themselves.  S is short for sort.  I typed in the Classes in the order that Forza has them, then I numbered them, F = 1, E = 2...R1 = 10, X = 11.  That way the classes are presented as they are in the game, and I can use the representative of the Class, Sort, as the primary sort.  The key for the table is, Sort Asc, Pi Asc, Targa Asc.

I may screw with the output loop on the Macro tonight to see if I can get it to leave that column out...

:) $

Ha, I thought I was going to have to dick with all the zero based arrays, but I figgered out I could move the sort column to the end and reduce the size of the arrays to 8 items instead of 9...

Cool-a-mundo... ;D $

Major "Doh" moment here...  I can just use the Pi column and skip the Sort business all together.

Even Cooler-a-mundo... ;D $
