It looks like we are entering to another Forza Lame Duck season.  They have announced a new game, Forza III perhaps.  Forza II is a year old and many have completed as much of the game as they care to.  I myself have turned to my TUIT list without a sense of urgency.

Playing my guitar and recording what I have come to term Blooze music (Americana with a decided Traditional bent).  Recording is good for me.  It makes me concentrate.  It makes me just as nervous as playing on the stage.  The act of recording itself can become project all its own - I am trying to get better at using my tools without forsaking musicianship for becoming a recording engineer.

Just for giggles, I've attached a picture of my SIAB (Studio In A Box).  It actually is fun to use, and once you get into it, almost as easy as one of the ancient Cassette recorders I used to mess with.

Talking with Dirt the other night - he expressed an interest in learning to play the guitar.  There will be a thread dedicated to that endeavor.

I've always kicked the idea around of learning to play the guitar.  I used to play the violin and the clarinet but I stopped that in High school to concentrate on well girls.  Playing Guitar Hero rekindles that curiosity, not because of the realism of the game but because of the sim aspect.  There is this thing hanging on me like I imagine a real guitar would, I have to strum it (virtually) and my wrist gets achy after an hour or so changing the chords (virtually).  I love music, I always have my iPod or iTunes playing in the house or in the car, or in my headphones, and I am quite an accomplished, air guitar player.  And occasionally you can find me belting out songs in traffic.

Forza is still fun for me.  I have my goals, none urgent, but still there.  The weather is nice and I'm spending time outside and getting the Golf together has consumed a bit of my free time so play time is usually better spend resting.

I'll look forwrd to your geetar thread there Blooze, maybe as a lurker or maybe I'll get off my Butt and go shopping.  On a side note I live less than a mile from no less than 5 music stores so I can't use that excuse.
Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

I am getting all a-froth to go golfing myself.  But, we are in the midst of the Monsoon season around here it is going above and beyond the call of duty.  Bird Creek is out of its banks at the moment and the entire Eastern end of town is under water.

My Golf jones will have to be satisfied with watching the Masters this week.

Heavens!  I would be in serious trouble being in that proximity to five stores.  My VISA card couldn't stand the pressure.

This is a quote from Che in last week's Pit Pass.
Quote
So while we're already full-speed ahead on our next big project, a good portion of the team (especially Landin and I) have never taken our focus off last year's game that's gotten us to where we are today.

...and this is Landon from the March 28 Pit Pass.

Although Che isn't actually writing his section this week (supposedly he's been busy working on our next game...)

...and from the Announcments section of the News and Articles Menu on the Daught Gnet.
Quote
We figured now would be a good time to give everyone a heads-up that Turn 10 is hiring for our next big thing.

...and finally, from this week's Pit Pass report.

Ah, and then there's this new game we're working on here... yes. It's going very well... very well indeed.

I guess one could say that you have missed a little bit here and there... ;D

What is a curiosity to me is the reluctance to call the project Forza III.

Ah yes. I had seen all that.

I guess it was the "announcement" term that threw me off. Us dang engineers are just too literal.  ;)

LOL - back in the day, I used to drool all over ads for Fostex 4 Trk when the new Guitar Player would arrive.  But that was also back in the day when the family was young and I was still making a living as a hard rock miner.  All I ever got to do is drool on the ads.

I don't know that I'll ever even scuff the surface of what is possible with the BR-1600.

Multi-track recorders are fun.  We've recorded studio-quality stuff in my uncle's basement, and it was actually a better setup than the "real" studio I played for once back home.  then again, that was a hip-hop studio; the producer literally didn't understand the difference between a speaker and an amp.  Next time I'm up there, I'll see if I can "borrow" a copy of a few things.  I'll also probably end up spending the entire trip in his basement recording stuff, as I'm finally starting to write again.
