Where does the Difficulty Bonus Go?
« on: March 17, 2010, 12:16:40 PM »
I think almost everybody is running their practise and hotlaps from the Private race platform in the Multiplayer menu, so maybe somebody knows what happens to the Difficulty Bonus.

I am set up for 60% on my Season stuff, the Hard AI, Brakeing Line, no STM or AutoBrake and full sim for tires and collisions etc...

Now, I thought I had it all the same in the Private race, Hard AI, braking line etc. and so on.  But I am only getting 45% bonus.  That don't hardly seem right.  Am I missing something somewhere?  I have the collisions set to always on in the game setup.

If you know something about where my other 15% got off to, I'd appreciate a hint...

Every assist has to be disabled. I didn't see you mention auto or manual transmission. I'll have to check when I get home from work, but could that be what you're missing?

That is part of the 60, manual w/o the clutch, I knew I was spacing one out.  Anyhoo, it seems like I have it all set - everything I check is what I expect it to be.

I a confused puppy...

Are you accounting for any damage? You pay for repairs if needed.

It's not damage.  For instance;

Sebring Full pays out at 3200 Credits per lap.  It runs 3.7 miles per lap.  If I run a 5 lap race, the purse will be 5 x 3200; the difficulty bonus will be (5 x 3200) x Difficulty Setting; and when it is done, I will have driven 18.5 miles.

So that is 16000 credits and XP points for the race.  The Bonus, according to the difficulty setting in that menu on my main screen, is 60%.  Accordingly, I should have been paid 16000 + 9600, or 25600 Credits.

Now, I ran the race and incurred no damage, yet I was paid only 23200 Credits and I gathered 16000 XP points.  A minor bit of arithmetic will show that the 7200 bonus is the result of Difficulty setting of 45%.

I have checked every setting I can find on the setup pages for the game, AI is set to hard.  Damage is set to simulation and always on.  If I check the Assists menu on the Private Game Main, the settings are as I have them back on the Main Menu.

For some reason, I am getting docked and can't for the life of me figure out why or how.  What happens when you guys run these races?  Are you getting paid the bonus that is displayed in Difficulty screen of the Main Menu?

With picking a multiplayer race. Its knocking off the hard AI. I have noticed the smaller bonus in my MP races with other people. And I'm getting the same no matter if its AI, or live person.

I might be mistaken but Hard AI is worth 15%.

I think it's the damage setting, Blooze.  It automatically knocks you down to cosmetic damage when you set up anonline race.

That's what it is.  The AI bonus is not included in Multi-Player.  I changed the AI from hard to medium and back and it still paid 45%.  I guess figuring out how to distribute the bonus in the case of a really mixed field (4 real peeps and 4 Computers) would be fairly complicated, so they just don't mess with it at all.

Well, now I know.  Thanks everybody for your input!
