Jalopnick Car Pack revealed...
« on: March 06, 2010, 08:29:16 AM »
Heavens!  I think this may be the best car pack T10 has ever released.  Of the 10 cars, I'll pass on only the two Aston Martins.  8 out of 10 is the high for me as far as car packs go.  There is even the first BMW that I have wanted to own in there!  It looks as if the Bugatti may have to wait for a while however.  With only 31 units ever made, it could be rather pricey.

I was meditating on which I will get first.  I don't know - sort of depends on my project status and how the cars rank Pi-wise...

Though it's purchase was never in doubt, I am looking forward to this one.

That and the Jag. One won last year at Mosport in May, Trans-Am. Looking forward to the same this year. Life imitating art.

If you’re gonna jump then jump far, fly like a sky diver
If you’re gonna be singer then you better be rock star
If you’re gonna be a driver then you better drive a race car

The Z435is (I refuse to type out SDrive35is.  Wait, I just did.  Well, my point stands. Hmmph.) is very nice indeed, but what I'm realy psyched for is the 911 Sport Classic.  FINALLY, a modern 911 that should fit in B Class, because it has even less power and I think more weight than the GT3.  Oh, and it has a ducktail.  Win.

I'm quite pleased with this, though I'm REALLY looking forward to the second Jalopnik pack that was voted for.  I pray the 635CSi makes it in!
It is highly likely that the above post was produced with a drippy jowl.

The 911 Sport Classic is a base 911 Carrera 2 with wider Carrera 4 rear track and bodywork. Plus the ducktail rear spoiler and double-bubble roof. Be nice if it does fit in B class, could make a nice non-areo A class grip build too.

Extra smokey.... now with no assists!

The 911 Sport Classic starts in class A.

Besides the new Civic Type R and the R class machines, every car in this pack is over 3,000 lbs. The second pack will remedy that somewhat.

But my kingdom for a Caterham or Ariel Atom...

Really?!?

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH  >:(

Well, I suppose it'll just have to fight against the Grand Sport and my A Class E92, then.  :'(

Edit: I'm in love with a Porsche...  very nice, neutral handling, it rotates well, sounds awesome, and, once I repaint it, will look awesome, too.

Double Edit:  Just took the Z435is for a drive around Positano.  Drives nicely, and the engine is a real sweetheart.  Sounds and looks very, very mean.  Unlike the 911, though, I can't wait to start tweaking her.  She's got a bit much corner-entry understeer for my taste, and I can really feel that open differential holding me back coming out of the turns (I was leaving a single rubber stripe out of most of the hairpins...).  Once those are adjusted, though, I think I'll have a very strong B-Classer...

Triple Edit: Z435is looks to be a solid flowing car, but I can feel the tiny twin turbos start strangling the engine about 6500rpm, so this isn't isn't going to be a speed car.

The new Porsche 911 handles very well right out of the box,...I was surprised.

I'm usually not one to test drive a car in stock form, but,....well, pretty good.

Love the Furai, what a sexy car.  I wish it had more of a howl at top RPM's but I'll take it.  When cars look and drive like that who cares if they aren't class killers!!!!
Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.
