This track rocks.
Although there are very few similarities between the two, this new Nurburgring GP track excites my driving senses much the way the old Blue Mountains used to. The few straights they have are long, and the twisty sections are complex and occassionally have blind apexes. Tight banked and off camber corners that can only be taken at high speed if entered and exited just right.
I attacked this track last night with 2 of my Blooze spec'd BTCC cars, the mk6 GTI and the Citroen C4.
The added grip was handy for learning some of the tracks cornering nuances, but even with that added grip it was almost easy to run out of track surface when up to speed.
The washboard ripples in the middle of a hard braking zone.
The very low speeds required for corners 1, 3, and 4.
The variety of banked and off-camber, high and low speed corners.
The straights are long and fast, but the track is relatively short and exciting.
I'd even go so far as to say that Positano and maybe even Fuji are somewhat predictable in comparison.
So yeah,....i'm loving me some Nurburgring GP at the moment, its so much fun to drive.
