Thing is, now you've put that in the sheet I'll be keeping an eye on that leaderboard too to see how far down it I fall.
Heh, I think time will increase your rank faster than I will.  Before I can catch your rank, I got to catch you on at least one track... and that ain't happening too fast.

 :-\

"Caught", #74 rank in Circuits when finished.
And well caught I am.  You are now on top of the big board.  Good job!!

A quick update on this months progress. I'm running through the Sidewinders in all classes at the moment and after last nights session another two targets have been knocked off.

1) I've knocked off more that 300,000 seconds so far (and I was only aiming for 200,000!)  ;D
2) I'm under 1,000,000 seconds in total time  ;D

My sights are now set on getting into the top 500 on the circuit board and push on to dropping a total of 500,000 secs.

You've inspired me to chase Spiny though I think that's a pretty lofty goal for me.  I've never given the time trials much attention but I think it will be a good change from F class hotlap.  After driving F cars that Falcon on Camino Viejo is a handfull!

I was goofin' around and ended up going sort of biserk on the Let's Chase Spiny sheet.

Let's see...

I added the tracks - times can now be tracked.  (I'm pretty sure I have all the times caught up and correct.)

I also added a "Report" section that can be useful in finding low hanging fruit, tracking how you've done and all that sort of thing.  There are some things you should know about this section.

There is only one cell that needs to be populated for the thing to work.  But there is some other stuff that can be done to make it more useful.  You will get out of it only what... yada yada...

The cell that needs to be populated - B23.  It needs your name.  Copy the function that is used where ever else you've seen your name.  (It is something like - =Chasers!B$3.)  Your times will fill out in the orange row and be compared to the fastest times entered in the table above.  Or, if you prefer, you can enter the function for another person (I have Bob Boberson 'cause he's "next" for me).  You can choose whoever you wish - the times will be automagically populated.

There is also a "Snapshot" row (row 27) and a Delta (28) for tracking improvements.  Those show up in the Snapshot Delta row.  The Values only should copied in from the orange row, which contains a rather complicated function and you will make a mess if you copy the function... values only!!

The largest deficit will be highlighted in the Time Delta row (25).   For me it is the Nurbburgring...  :-\

There is an audit column out at the end that will kind of give you an idea if something is amiss in your data.  The value should be 0.   But it can have a one or two due to rounding shinanigans.  Anything bigger means you have a problem.  Stank and Fit both have Decerted times.  That is the reason for the their numbers in the audit column.  Qmole and Chuckrateez have a value there to show what it looks like if you have forgotten a field, or added it to the wrong row in this case.  Also, if you subtract the number from 1800, it will give you an idea which track it is.  In this case, it is a track that has a 56 second time.  That sort of narrows it down.   Check Tsukuba.  I have the offending cells hilighted.  Give QMole his time back and all will be well (and clear the hilighting)

Keeping it updated takes only a little time now since all the times have been caught up.  When I select a track, with the Leaderboard set to favorites, I just give the times a quick comparison.  I can catch new times and updated times.  Better to keep it up to date as you go along.

Of course, you don't have to keep it up at all.  You can just put your times in, and maybe the times of a buddy that you want to be compared with.  It is up to you.  Right now, the sheet is all set to go for the Spiny Chasers.

Have fun, y'all... ;D $

PS: If you don't want to mess with any of this and just want the simple sheet, do this...
  • Hide columns H thru AK.  AK is the bright green spacer for just this purpose.
  • Hide Rows 21 thru 30.

I have started working a bit on E class P2P, expect to see times continue to drop in that neck of the woods. :)

Blooze,

I'm still out here chasing.   ;D  Been working my way up re-running all the circuits with manual, and just finished with D.  That should give you something to shoot for if you ever decide to go back (or have Buck get in the chase).

   Now on to C.

Good job!  Way to hang in there Chuck!

My own hotlapping efforts sort of slowed, mostly because my current project does not deal with Class level times.  Most of the cars are a good 2 or 3 seconds behind my personal best for the class.

Now Buck, on the other hand, managed to go all the way from last to first on the A Class Circuit board, and last to second on the P2P board.

I am still hanging on by the slimest hunk of denture plastic to one of the last few spots in the Top 100 on the Big Board.  I'm sure that time is coming to an end.   Seconds come hard up here, let alone the gobs of minutes required to move any further up the board.  I am #97, #96 is still 147 seconds away.

But we plug along, doing the olde Farte best we can...

Here is a copy of my current sheet.  The only part of it that I can say is truely up-to-date is the Big Board, EOM and all...  Oh, and my times in the Time Trials.  I got back below 500 pretty easy, and I am closing in on another goal... getting my overall to sub-one hour.  Sixty minutes is only 22 seconds away.

Warped was the Big Mover again this month with his hard run to the top of the Board.  Moose ran a fairly close second with almost 500 thousand seconds biting the dust.  He is pretty well into the top 500 now.

Good job everybody...

I am still around just in a reduced mode. I am at Fujimi Kaido in F Class all ribbons for now. My plans are to do at least F through A.

I seem to have quite a bit more trouble with the downhill sections myself.  Everything gets all wild and wooly what with gravity and all...

Stupid gravity.  I have a little Datsun Z, but even still, things go downhill fast on the uh... er... downhill sections.

Ferrari 360 CS is my A class instrument to dissect the Nurburgring P2P. A few more focused runs tonight to extract every last shred of tread!

After that, time to visit Kaido...

Okay Choccy, I'll add you to the list.   A "few more focused runs..."  I have a hard time figuring out when that is sometimes.  Sometimes I get on a press and I keep trying, one more pass - try to take the third or whatever corner a little better - try to decide whether to down shift and hit the throttle or is it is faster to carry the extra gear and coast a bit...  and I make another run, and another run...

@TopBoost: Did you want on the list as well?

You just said it right there. Yesterday, I was truly stuck in.

I was convinced I could whip that prancing pony into submission. Off the line, up to running speed and through every turn combination until the end gate.

The 360 CS is a thoroughbred, make no doubt. Taut lines. Low stance. Lightweight. Biddable chassis. One of Scuderia's finest. A machine of pedigree.

I reviewed my runs and telemetry from the paddock this morning. Even now, within the confines of my office cubicle, I can hear the wail of the V8 and the howling of the stockers as I pushed that car to the edge of the performance envelope.

But there's still that which lies beyond.
