Well, my little Focus RS did her best, but I must admit she (I) pretty much suck. Too careful, I think. I wasn't sure if a time would count with a contact (!) so trashed a few faster runs, so as to post only clean times. Up the mountain, 324.057, Down the hill, 313.180.  Total 637.237. Loads of fun with this challenge. Now to see how the SEAT fairs.

You're correct, we're not counting invalid ! runs.  Don't get discouraged.  The more passes you take, the better you'll get at stayin' 'tween the fences.  Every valid time of mine you see up there is usually the result of 4 or 5 restarts.

I'll hearken back to some sage advice given when I first signed on to this forum (the muscle inc era). Do the best you can, then better your best. Not in those words exactly, but the message was simple, "have fun". Mission accomplished. :)

To help me develop my toons I created this simple spreadsheet.  There is no magic tuning formula in the sheet it simply helps you calculate spring, anti-roll bar, and damper settings based on values you enter.  It just helps with the (rather simple) math.

Hopefully the sheet is self explanatory.  Enter values in the yellow fields.  Toon values are in blue.

LOL - what a cluttered mess my spreadsheet is compared to yours...

I spent a good piece of yesterday trying to get a time out of the Citroen.  It is fast, but it has no grip - when I try to keep up I invariably end up in a guard rail - if I tone it down to stay out of the fences the other cars just leave me in the dust.  The car starts its life as an F class FWD and they just don't allow any tires for it.  225 is the widest they got.  It is a good F Class car and I think it will do okay in E, and maybe D.  But once the speed gets up what the little tires will handle there's just no help for it.

The Peugeot is another one that is pushed about as far as it will go.  It has my low lap on the downhill right now mostly cause I took a bonzai approach to that last turn coming off the bridge and managed to stay out of the wall and beat the SEAT by a couple tenths.  The SEAT will take the time back in a little bit.

The Vauxhaul is going to get another turn, then the '06 Focus ST.  But I agree with whoever said the SEAT is the goto car here.  The grip is just too great on the car.  And besides that, everybody all ready got one for free!!

I noticed in the Original thread you were interested in the little BMW for a BTCC style racing.

I did build one up to the specs for these cars, with some caviats. In order to fit it in I had to not go with the widest rear tires for it. But they are wider than the fronts. Fr 235 max width; Rr 245, max is 285 or 95. Race tires are fitted.

Full adjustable parts, full FM aero, race clutch, Cage, but only Sport weight redux, Drivetrain and flywheel are not full. It left enough PI to fit one power part on it to make it to B Class.

Speeds are not great right now. Really hurting on the uphill with rear grip. Having to feather the gas too much and losing time to you power on exit.

I don't have the times wrote down but I remember a 302.xxx on uphill, can't remember DH.  But I think I knocked of around ten seconds with gravity.

The missing links are not race weight redux, and not full rear tire. But they are in the spirit. The way it feels, it needs one more size of rear tire. But if it does go through a rebuild, I think I need to look at if I can squeeze that full race weight in with an matching 235 rear tire and stock power. I don't think I can, but it might.

That is some good work.  I saw that you were working on a 135i - that 288.3 is a pretty good downhill time.  I knew it was going to be a problem getting there, I'm surprized you could get both the FM Aero parts, BMW can be such a contrary outfit.

Let's see, first; how does the present build QR?  We'd want to know that.

Another thing to consider is the S2000 spec.  It is all the same stuff, but you have A Class (another 100 Pi) to 'git 'er done'...

How 'bout we move this discussion over to that thread?

Is the BMW allowed? I thought they had to be FF and the 135i is FR. I see it mentioned in the original post text but not on the list.

I think I'm going to start by trying the Clio as nobody else has yet mentioned it and my GF has one. I'm so close to finishing Season 6 and getting the final few relatively easy achievements but this sounds fun and may well be a welcome distraction. Not sure if I'll come anywhere near the times posted here but I'll give it a shot.

No, the BMW is not allowed.  This is probably not the best place to have started that discussion.  Sorry for the Confusion.

Cool!!  That Renault is right near the top of my TUIT list, just haven't gotten to it...

Howdy,

Glad to see a challenge up.  Since I don't race online, it's a chance to see how I stack up against y'all (not very well, but what the hey).

I picked the Mini first; dunno why ... I just did.  It's fairly gutless on the uphill climb, but I can throw it around pretty well downhill.  It took me a half-dozen laps of each to come in with these times:

   2009 Mini Cooper:  305.339 uphill     291.308 downhill

I tried the SEAT SC, but we just don't get along.  Best I could manage in a half-dozen laps was 306.xxx and 292.xxx.  I'll give it another go after I go back to earning more money in career for my beloved Testarossa (~$13.5 mil in the bank and climbing).

Oh, and happy new year to all of The-Drivers-Formerly-Known-As-MInc.   :D

      Chuck

Happy New Year/New Challenge guys!  Well here's my first.  Pics should be on my storefront soon, seem like there is some delay to getting them on the fms.net site or I'd show you them here.  Maybe later for an edit.

'09 Focus RS with a sport turbo upgrade being the only thing beyond the required parts.  Tuned using iPhone and the ForzaTune app.  Nice little app you got there Feuerdoggy.

Uphill: 306.756
Downhill: 296.746

Citroen C4
DH: 288.121
UH: 296.696
Total: 584.817

I don't know exactly whats with this car, but it does tend to be slightly unpredictable at times.
Plenty of power,...but the transitional stability is lacking.

OOPS TYPO FIXED - Yeah, i had my DH and UH reversed.

Were you really faster uphill than down Fdog or is that a typo?  I still need to attempt driving down the hill..
