Parts Information

Yo Drift, I thought I'd post this here because of your work on the power end of things.  Perhaps it will be of some use to you in your deliberations.

What it is is a spreadsheet containing all the engine parts for the Acura Integra Type R.  It lists the PI, Hp, Tq, Tq/Hp, and Weight of all the parts in the Engine/Power section of the upgrade menu.  These values will be different for every car, but I think they do show tendencies that will be common amongst them all.

Notes:
  • Once again, the only part that will change the RPM range is the camshaft.  Torque takes a serious hit with part, producing a Tq/Hp of .4 (.366 for the race item)
  • I found one part that increased torque ratio, the sport pistons.  Oddly, the race pistons did not.  About 1/3 of the parts maintained the stock ratio of .667, the rest hurt it.  I say hurt, mostly cause I am sort of a Torque guy until it gets up to 1:1.
  • There are some weight losses/gains this time around.  One can drop some rather noteworthy tonnage here.
  • The changes to the Wb are helter skelter and make little sense.  I would pay them no never mind.

I'm looking forward to what you come up with for your Datsoon...

What I found interesting is the cam upgrade doesn't trade low for high like a real life HP cam would do. Instead it moved the power curve up and higher with raise in rev limit. At no point did I see the upgraded cam go below the stock cams production.

I have seen such a thing in real life. But only when the cam was the restriction in the intake system. Most HP cams trade low end production for high end gains.
