Tuning Sheet

This is the Forza Three version of my Tuning sheet.  There is very little of it is intuitive, more, it has evolved unreasonably over the last couple years.  For that reason, I will start a thread below for questions and discussions concerning the Tuning Sheet.  Accompanying the sheet is an example with my BTCC Citroen.  The sheet named Tags that is used to fill out parts of various sheets to be class specific.

There are a number of things that are filled out to accomodate the "Office" sheet where data is accumulated by Class.  This sheet accumulates data by the car.  The very first move...

Following is a Blow by Blow account of me filling out the sheet and then working with it...

The first thing is to navigate to the My Car screen in Forza.  The car you want to Toon should be current and unModified.  Now copy the appropriate Class Tag from the tag sheet to cell J1.  You will notice that the value in cell L1 changes.  This value is the amount of Pi left between what you actually have and the Class Maximum, which should be in cell J1 now.  You should fill in the Pi for your machine into cell O1 now.  This value is historical and should never be messed with again.  The balance of Pi should update (cell L1), as well as cell K1, which should reflect the number you just entered.

I should point this out now, because you will see it alot.  Cell K1 is where you will enter the Pi value as it changes.  Even though it has a function in it now, this is where the value is entered and the function is overwritten.  There is a lot of that type of thing in this sheet.  Cells that have simple assignment type functions that are intended to be overwritten by hand later on.  This process is just me being lazy and filling out the sheet with defaults and stuff the easy way.

Use the class tag to set the Colour Combos on the toolbar.  Then use them to set the colour values for cells A1 and B1.  Don't copy into these cells because there is alignment formatting that will be destroyed.  Enter the name of the car into cell A1.  I usually use the full name as it is presented in the upper left hand corner of the My Car screen here.  Cell A1 will be linked to the office Stable Sheet.

You will no doubt have noticed that there is a bold pink 0 sitting there at M1.  This is provided for the car level and is updated as the levels are attained.  Cell M1 is linked to the Stable Sheet as well.

Now fill in the proper value for the Engine Placement in cell B34.  The choices are there in front of you.  Same with the drive type in cell C34.  These two cells are linked to the Stable Sheet.

Gear Spreader

This is a separated copy of the Gear Spreader device that I mentioned in my post this morning.

Here is a description of what is there and what you shouldn't mess with.  (I don't lock cells so consider yourself warned.)

  • Column B: This is the base gear set that you want to modify.  The values entered right now are the default gears that come with the Race Transmission most of the time.   For instance, the AWD conversion for the Peugeot 207 RC comes with a Race Transmission that has its own particular set.  Additionally, most of the R# cars have different default sets.
  • Columns C & D These are functions that are vital to the function of the spreader - don't dick with 'em.
  • Cells E3 and E8 (Purple on Yellow) are where you enter the extents of the gear set you want.
  • Cells E4-E7 are some more functions.  They shouldn't be dicked with either.

If you want to copy the calculated gears to another spreadsheet use the Paste Special/Values and optionally Transpose from the Popup Menu.

If there is a bunch of confusion, bring it up in the Thread I started for the Tuning Sheet.

Class Office Workbook

I have one of these for each class F-X.  There is data on the Stable screen that is linked to the Main Forza Workbook.   That is a session for me.  I open 3 workbooks, the Main, the Office, and a Garage.  Then, I start my xBox up...

I included a copy of my B Class stable so you could see one filled out.  Remember tho, EVERY piece of data in that table is a link from the car's Tooning Sheet.  I had to PSV (Paste Special Values) the table else the links be broken and there would be nothing there.

You can use the Tooning Sheet Questions thread below if you have questions.

Tuning Sheet II

This is the new version of the Tuning Sheet that has the new Tonka Equations (hilited in pale blue).

Everything else is still the same so anything written about it still applies.
