Stateside FM2 Sendoff
« on: October 21, 2009, 08:59:56 AM »
My wife is out of town this weekend, and I was considering hosting some racing for us poor stateside folks who have to wait for our game.  Here are a few events I've thought about running. If we can get enough people, I'd really like to have one last enduro, and of course a final run for the Clio Cup cars and M-Inc. spec seems appropriate.  For the new guys, you can find these specs (or at least links to them) in a stickied post atop this section.  Some possibilities:

Muscle, Inc. specs.  (B, C, D)

Spec Miatas, 25 laps at Sebring Club.

Clio Cup racers at Diamondback, 25 laps.  (Maybe allow upgrades to B700?)

GT400 commemorative event, 50 laps at Daytona (mostly because I missed the Daytona race, open to suggestions)

These are all just ideas, but I'd really like to run some of the specs that we've tossed around over the past couple of years.  I think Clio Cup was a lot of fun, and everyone here knows my thoughts on spec racing.  Any suggestions are welcomed, just wanted to have something to start from.

I'm in.  Really wanting to run the Spec Miatas, the rest I'll go with the flow on.

Would you guys be up for a Spec Miata mini-series(FM Series or otherwise) consisting of 3-4 races, 3-7 laps long and ran on the American tracks?  Then perhaps move on to GT400?

I was thinking SMs @:
Road Atlanta
Laguna Seca
Road America or Sebring
Sunset Infield

followed by -
GT400 @ Sunset Infield..

I'd really like 10 laps, but yeah, that's definitely a thought.  I'd think that, due to time, we might do SM Friday Night and GT400 Saturday, or something to that effect.  Bimmer leaves at 11, and frankly, if we can do something less intense (or more violent) after 9:30 or so, the racing will be cleaner, I suspect.  If there's time, I'd like to do an SM mini-enduro of some sort, maybe 25 laps at Laguna with a required pit stop or something.

BTW, if any of the guys from exodus are interested, they're more than welcome to join in.  I guess that probably goes without saying.  I'll just lengthen the end of race timer if Serial is among them.  lol

lol

I wouldn't mind an SM mini-enduro either.  Like I said before, I'm pretty much open to whatever, just really wanted to run the SMs..  Got one made a while back and never actually ran it with you guys.

Also, if there's a GT400 race, I may pull out a certain red RX8(within the rules) instead of the Doritos Mazda you guys got familiar with.

That looked like it went pretty well in our little de facto rotary meet the other night.

Thanks for letting me stink it up with you guys on Friday night.  Can't wait to get into more shenannigans with the new version soon.
Go sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.

Yeah I had fun as well.  Can't wait to do more door bangin' in 3.

Got a 75 lapper tomorrow at Road America for the final send off with another friend.  I hope my hands aren't cramped come Tuesday!
