AS you say, it's a lot of fun and a lot of work. Sadly, it doesn't look like I'll be getting any blue text this side of FM4. I just lost too much time in the R390 at Kaido and am struggling to keep up with you elsewhere, let alone make up the lost time.

And I don't think there's time to finish R1 before FM4, although I will have a few more days than you at least.

Blooze,

Yeah, it's been great fun.  I've learned a lot though the whole process too.

I was looking back over some of the classes and saw that I was way behind you in A, so I looked for some low-hanging fruit in the P2P.  Doesn't look like there's nearly as much as I had hoped.   ;)  Some of your Kaido times with that Evo are just amazing.  So if you don't mind sharing, what was your secret?  Special build or toon or just persistence?  I'm struggling to get withing a couple of seconds of you on the *short* ones.

Heh, I would like to think it was some of both... persistence and the Toon.  ;D

I think the Evo was one of the first cars with what I called the "Stock Tranny" build.  In this case, both the Clutch and Trans are stock in favor of Hp producing parts.  Other than that it is pretty much my standard AWD Toon, with a 50/42 SWR and a 48/36 Spiny.

I sent you a copy of the Setup.  Let me know what ya think of it and if it helps you find that other 2 seconds. ;)

Blooze,

Thanks, I'll check out the setup this afternoon.  Interesting that you're going with the stock tranny.  I've only been able to improve my times by extensive fiddling with the FD so I get the optimal shift points on some of the critical areas of the track.  To think that you could do it without being able to adjust that ...

I did manage to find some time on the Kaido Old Downhill (or is it the New ... I can never keep them straight); just sneaked past you there.  But that was a one-time deal; I doubt I could reproduce that lap if I ran it another 50 times.   :o

Now back to those short stages to see what I can salvage.   ;D

Talk about your "One time deals", that particular setup where both the clutch and trans are stock is one of them.  It comes from a Tune that I bought from another member, Hellisan.  I don't know that I would have ever come up with it myself... I surely hate the way many of the cars slow shift without the drivetrain upgrades.

But there was some proof in his pudding.  Now my configurations are usually Race Clutch and Sport Tranny, unless the stock gearing is intollerable, then I will get the Race Transmission.  The diff between the two transmissions is usually 5 or 6 Pi points.  Those points spent on Hp in the lower classes can be significant.

Blooze,

I took your Evo VI build/toon for a spin, and while it didn't immediately improve my time on Old Kaido Downhill, it knocked off .700 on my first run on New Down.  By the time I was done, I had trimmed 3 seconds off (and also ran a de-cert time a full second faster than that).

I admit that I hadn't played around much with your tuning method since Forza2, as I was normally happy with F'dog's calculator, but these last couple of times I've run your toons have been amazing.   F'dog's tunes are "comfortable"; as he states, they are to get you close.  With your tunes, I really feel like I can push the car to its limits.

Guess I'll have to pay closer attention to what you suggest when we get Forza4.    ;)

Anyhow, thanks for sharing.  I think I'm gonna take your toon and my old build and try to combine them to see what happens.  I actually had more hp in my old build than you did in yours.  Got to compare and see what we did differently besides the tranny.

Well, I suspect I've completed my final class (R2) and once again have failed to get the blue text. Good job there Blooze.

R1 beckons now, but already I've failed to match your times on the drag strips. And things aren't looking good for the ovals either - it looks like I'll be the best part of 10 seconds slower around Benchmark than you for a start...

Looks like I have to report yet another failure to gain the Blue Text. This time it's on the R1 P2P's, although I managed to get a lot closer than I have been doing. Unfortunately, the randomiser keeps giving me the #12 Nissan GT-R which only reaches a PI of 910 and I'm losing a bit of time on that - it's come up 3 times so far :o

It's touch and go as to whether I will get the R1 circuits completed before FM4, and to be honest I think that might depend on how quickly Royal Mail deliver the new game.

Achkkk...  >:(

Sorry to hear that Spiny.  Maybe you should restrict the randomizer to just the R1 cars and go out in a blaze of glory!

I will try to forego Forza Four daydreams to post an updated Chaser's list today.

Okay, so I got a little more involved with the Daydreaming and Spreadsheets than I though I would.  Here is the Chasers list with the Big Board updated yesterday.

Thank you all for participating!!  I had a blast with it...

It's been fun, just a shame I couldn't catch you in the higher classes. I reckon I may just about get R1 done by the end, but won't be moving onto X Class.

Yeah, thanks Blooze.  It was a blast.  And thanks for your generosity with your toons and builds.  I got a lot of my best times with them.
