FCT 2004 996 GT3 - GT400 Contender
« on: April 30, 2009, 11:58:06 AM »
I know that it's a bit late for the series, but I've been having a LOT of fun just looking for races online with this little German car! It's the latest in a fairly long line of cars to be tested on Sunset Infield. It's very forgiving for a 911 and may prove that it doesn't need aero at all...
So far, its best lap is a full second ahead of everything else I've tried, including the Tuscan S, Ferrari Dino, Shelby Series One and others. :)

Here's what I've got so far:

upgrades:
Racing Exhaust
Full Platform & Handling / No W.R.
Avon Racing Tires - max width

settings:
final drive - 4.11
tire pressures - F29 / R28
camber - F0.8 / R0.8
aero - F MIN / R NA
all other settings default

I checked the tires after a hard 5 laps last night and the settings are starting to look just about right. ;D

I'm not surprised it goes well - I built one up for the GT600 test spec (RWD, 950 PI, 500-600bhp) and that's pretty good as well. [I actually meant to build a 997GT3, but built up the wrong white Porsche :-[] My build/tune isn't a lot different to yours either - apart from the extra bhp and that to get some weight reduction (think it was Sport) I had to drop a few tyre brands.

But as Pete (and possibly Bimmer) can attest, it's certainly better than a certain lime-green Charger...
