Tuscan S should be pretty quick at Sunset.. Not sure how well it would have run some of the other tracks though, you can't fit slicks can you?

I ran some testing the other day, i'm hitting over 160mph down the main straight but was struggling with some high speed understeer, once I got that sorted out I was into the 1:29's, It wasn't the cleanest of tests though, I think the outcome of this race though will be down to who keeps it out of the walls...  :-\

That makes me feel a bit better. I was expecting to get stomped down that straight but it seems things might not be as bad as I feared if I go for the low d/f set-up. And seeing as I managed to tame the oversteer with a bit of judicious tuning that's the way I think I'll be going (best lap so far is a 1:28.7xx, but I doubt I'll get that in race conditions seeing as how that was on minimal fuel...)

Pulling a number out my but, I think I'm around 170.

but I am in NO way certain

Smokey, I think one of my favorite FM2 stories ever happened while racing you at Sunset. Strangely, I can't remember what car I was driving. All I remember is the sound of you screaming and me asking:

"Pete? ...Hey Pete, where'd you go?"

 ;D

FYI: The Tuscan S recipe is currently:

GT400 Tuscan S
A850
398hp / 335 lb-ft
2391 lbs

Sport Exhaust
Yokohama Sport Tires (Yoko-Dots)
Max Tire Width
Street Weight Reduction
Full Platform & Aero

~I'm going to test an alternate build as follows~

380hp / 320 lb-ft (stock engine)
2183 lbs
no aero
Yoko-Dots 235/30R19 & 265/25R20

LOL, yeah I remember that Hop... We were on the reverse track and I got a better run out of the last corner on the last lap, Somehow 'i'm on your left' got heard as 'move left' and I ended up buried in the end of the pit wall tyre barrier  :o

I think he was getting me back for a few races earlier where I missed my braking point at Suzuka into the chicane and T-Boned him into the middle of next week...

Good times Hop  ;D

Broke into the 1:28's today, albeit just barely.  I feel like low 1:29's will be a good, consistent goal if I can stay out of trouble.

As an aside, in online racing I'm seeing lots of people trying to dive inside.  My experience, for the most part, is that it doesn't work, and it may cause a wreck.  Remember, if you can't pass cleanly, you can't pass.  Just a reminder.  ;D

Alright guys, since Fndr can't make the race today, I'm going to host today, so look for an invite from me - if you look for one from Fndr, you'll be waiting quite a long while!  :D

Great race, guys!  ;D

I'll post up specific times & such when I get home this afternoon, but here's the finishing order:

1) Bimmer
2) Pete
3) Open
4) Snyder
5) Spiny (MASSIVE FLAMING ELECTRICAL FIRE OF DOOM)

Fastest Lap (of finishers): Bimmer

I still can't believe the race Pete and I had...

Since when is fast lap given to the finishing drivers?  ::)

I also still call heaping helpings of b.s. for Spiny's finishing position.. but its par for the course.

It quite clearly states in the Rules that fastest lap is for finishers only...

No doubt this will know promt you to bitch some more about the restart at Silverstone, go ahead... DQ me and have the winners points if you really want, I don't care.. Have the championship if it makes you happy... ::)

But I remind you that you did take me off, all be it unitentionally at Suzuka and you didn't stop to let me retake my place, you took second place in the restart and I ended up last in the line... Did you hear me bitch, moan, whinge then? NO...

Wow Pete, really?  First off, I said nothing about you so kindly shut the fuck up.  Really, I don't know where you think you get the right to start attacking me for stating my opinion on a matter.

As for me getting it wrong about the fast lap for finishers, I didn't know that.  I don't have the rulebook in front of me, so pardon my ignorance on the matter.  That said, I still have issue with the finishing order, but fuck it.  If you want to make it out like I'm being a baby, I'm just going to say that you seem to be the only one that can't get over races more than a week old.  I could have taken the points from you, but did I?  So fuck you very much, fucking prick bitch.

Why don't you go WHINGE about Suzuka some more.

Man, that fucking burns me up Pete.  I conceded the championship to you after the ruling at Silverstone. Ungrateful prick.

Since always.

Quote from: GT400 Rulebook
The scoring structure for the standard races (those not having an asterisk) is as follows:

1. 10 points

2. 7 points

3. 6 points

4. 5 points

5. 4 points

6. 3 points

7. 2 points

8. 1 point

Fastest lap among finishers-2 points

That’s how it’s always been; you can check the rulebook here.

As for Spiny’s finishing position, there was still 30+ minutes of racing to go after him freezing up.  Anything could’ve happened, so it only makes sense for him to get 5th.
That’s his logic, not mine (although I agree wholeheartedly).

Wow Pete, really?  First off, I said nothing about you so kindly shut the fuck up.  Really, I don't know where you think you get the right to start attacking me for stating my opinion on a matter.

You weren’t addressing anyone.  You asked an open question, he responded.

As for me getting it wrong about the fast lap for finishers, I didn't know that.  I don't have the rulebook in front of me, so pardon my ignorance on the matter.

Okay, apology accepted, but please, next time you want to make a claim, check the rulebook. :)

That said, I still have issue with the finishing order, but fuck it.

See above in this post regarding finishing order.

If you want to make it out like I'm being a baby, I'm just going to say that you seem to be the only one that can't get over races more than a week old.  I could have taken the points from you, but did I?  So fuck you very much, fucking prick bitch.

The personal attacks really aren’t needed here…

Alright Open, you asked for this one…

You had no leg to stand on at Silverstone.  Fndr, Snyder, Spiny – they did.  But you didn’t.  You lost out on the restart not because of Pete’s misunderstanding of the rules, but because you spun in the last complex UNDER YELLOW because you were freaking DRIFTING.  Yellow is a CAUTION.  I don’t know of anyone who would call drifting cautious.  So not only did you disadvantage yourself, you also screwed me over at the restart from your disregard for caution.  So don’t bring Silverstone back up.  Even if Pete had followed the rulebook to the T, you would’ve restarted at least 200 meters back.  Your loss at Silverstone was YOUR fault.

Bimmer, I didn't bring Silverstone up so don't go acting like I did.  You might want to reread what just transpired to better understand that.  Christ.  And I'm not going to sit back and let someone slam me when I asked a valid freaking question.  So get off the high horse.

Also, please don't presume to tell me what to do.  As far as I'm concerned, the matter is done now.  I got the answer to my question.  I didn't ask for a flame war or for insults to be thrown my way.

No, but you did carry it further.  And yes, you asked a valid question.  But then you rolled your eyes, changing the perceived intent..

Fair enough - I'm done with the arguing, too, then.

I hope this is done - no-one likes to see personal attacks coming in like this and I can't say I've enjoyed reading it.

Back to the race, I can't deny I was gutted when the box decided to crap out on me, especially as I was going much better than expected. But, it is an enduro championship, and in enduros one of the issues to be overcome is reliability. In truth, I think that a fairer result than me being given 5th would be that I received a DNF since the equipment failed on me. I remember from when I was young one of the Porsches (or was it a Mazda ???) at the Le Mans 24 hours breaking down in the lead in the last hour - they weren't given the win and I don't think I should have either. In truth, although I'm grateful for the 2nd place at Mugello a large part of me feels that should have been a DNF too.

Anyway, as I promised in the race, I will post up the Miura Sunset tune. Maybe not tonight, but at some time later in the week. Hopefully someone else will have as much fun driving it as I have. I just wish I could have done the car justice. :'(

You did in every race you finished... and I've got a feeling the car's got a long online future ahead of it.  :)
